APA Wizard

The APA Wizard is designed to help you create an APA (5th ed.) citation.  It will take you through the steps for the most common types of cited works providing you with assistance on how to input specific information.  As long as you enter the information correctly, the Wizard will result in a correct APA citation.

There are a few things you should know before you use the Wizard. Please keep the following points in mind as you use the Wizard.
  1. Many instructors have specific styles they wish you to use and these styles may deviate slightly from APA style. Be sure to check with your professor to make sure you are complying with his or her wishes.

  2. The graduate school or college of most universities publish style guides to be used when writing theses or dissertations. Be sure to check with the office of graduate studies if you are writing your thesis or dissertation and comply with any stylistic guidelines they might provide.

  3. APA style refers to more than just the form of citations in the "References" section of your paper. The Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association contains guidelines on the use of grammar, selection of titles and headers, physical format of the paper, and the creation of figures and tables in addition to many other characteristics of a well written paper.

  4. If you are going to purchase a copy of the APA Manual (6th ed.), please purchase it through the StyleWizard to keep this site alive. The book is eligible for Free Super Saver Shipping.
